How often should I get a checkup and cleaning?
At least twice a year, but maybe more depending on your specific situation. We use these appointments to clean those hard to reach spots you may have missed while brushing and flossing, and we also examine your mouth for any signs of decay or infection. This way, we can take care of any minor problems as early as possible.
Is Invisalign® just as effective as braces?
Yes! Invisalign® can be used to straighten crooked, crowded, and gapped teeth just like traditional metal braces. It can also help address misaligned bites. However, for very advanced orthodontic issues, sometimes metal braces are the only viable option. Fortunately, most patients are good candidates for aligner treatment.
Are root canals painful?
Not when Dr. Ward performs them! She takes patient comfort very seriously, so she does everything she can to make the procedure as gentle as possible. This includes going over the treatment beforehand as well as using local anesthetic along with sedation. In the end, most patients can’t feel a thing while in the chair.
How long do porcelain veneers last?
With the proper care (which just consists of regular brushing, flossing, and dental checkups) veneers have been shown to last about 20 years before they need some type of maintenance. Basically, if you look after them just like your natural teeth, they can easily last for decades.
Will you accept my dental insurance?
Most likely yes! Dr. Ward is in-network with several common PPO plans, and our team will be more than happy to file your claim for you to guarantee you’re getting the most out of your benefits. You’ll find a list of our accepted plans on our New Patients page, and you can ask us about your specific policy by giving us a call.
I don’t have dental insurance. Is there another way I can save on my care?
You can sign up for our Den Discount Savings Plan. One low fee is all that’s needed to cover your checkups and cleanings for the entire year, plus you’ll receive a 25% discount on all other treatments! It similar to regular insurance, but it doesn’t have any deductibles, care maximums, or claim forms. You can learn more and sign up today by giving us a call.
